A suggested learning path

If you are new to Salesforce development, learn the topics in this order. Each step builds on the one before it, and each one links to a section of this site.

  1. Salesforce basics. Understand objects, fields, relationships, page layouts and security (profiles, permission sets and sharing). You need these before you write any code.
  2. Apex and SOQL. Learn variables, collections, loops, SOQL and DML, and then governor limits. Start with the Apex guides.
  3. Apex triggers. Practise real scenarios, one object at a time, and learn bulkification and handler classes. See the Apex trigger scenarios.
  4. Flows. Build screen flows and record-triggered flows, and learn when to use Flow instead of Apex. See the Salesforce Flow scenarios.
  5. Lightning Web Components. Learn HTML, JavaScript and the component lifecycle, then connect components to Apex. Copy and study the reusable LWC components.
  6. Integration and deployment. Learn REST APIs, callouts, Named Credentials, change sets and Salesforce CLI.
  7. Interview preparation. Read real questions from company interviews and practise answering them aloud.

How this site is organised

CodersBugs is written by Salesforce developers for people who are learning Salesforce or preparing for a developer job. Tutorials show working code and explain why it works. Interview pages list real questions, with short answers for the harder ones. Coding practice pages, such as the programs section, help you build logic before an interview.

Every page is reviewed and updated when Salesforce changes a feature. If you find a mistake or an outdated step, please tell us through the Contact page, and we will fix it.
